THE WORK

An estate finished in white and cream rough-cut limestone, laid in an irregular polygonal pattern with wide pale joints, under terracotta hipped roofs with stone chimneys to match. The composition is axial: an infinity pool and lawned parterre run straight from the main villa toward the open sea, framed by terraced gardens, sand-toned stone paving and mature olive trees.

The masonry was built up by hand over the structure on a steep coastal slope, the cladding pointed in place course by course. At dusk the stone holds the last of the light, which is when the estate reads best.
